Robust demand from Asia boosts Singapore Exports

Singapore’s shipment s of electronics and pharmaceuticals to Asia raised the country’s exports by 5.8% from a year earlier.

The robust demand for Singapore’s non-oil exports, dominated by electronics and phamaceuticals, in Asia helped offset a decline in shipment to Western economies.

Though the rise in exports has not been a sharp one, it certainly has shown some signs of stability.

The country’s non-oil exports still remain vulnerable to the dwindling economic recovery of the US and the Eurozone.
