Mazar Residents Welcome the Third-Generation of Internet Services

Many of residents of Mazar-e-Sharif have expressed satisfaction about the 3G internet service launched in the province.

Mazar’s Sales Manager for 3G internet services Mohammad Naeem Khalili said that the speed of 3G internet is much higher than the 2G internet,  and it enables a much faster downloading and uploading of data ranging between 512KB-1MB. Mr. Khalili added that soon the service would be upgraded to 4G.

More than 5,000 residents have purchased the 3G internet since the launch of the service in Mazar.

The launch of 3G internet service inaugurated in Mazar on July 25 of this year, and it was warmly welcomed by the people of Mazar.

 Currently, the service is available in Kabul, Jalalabad and Mazar-e-Sharif only. Officials from the Ministry of Telecommunications say that they have undertaken plans to commence the service in Sheberghan, Kunduz and Kandahar provinces as well.

Head of Mazar’s Telecommunication hoped that the new technology would enhance the youth capacity in the country.

At the moment, 3G service can only be obtained from Etisalat Telecommunication Company. Ministry of Telecommunications is considering activating the service in other telecommunication companies as well. MTN was granted the 3G service license and the company is yet to activate the service.

The 3Gservice has made Email and video chat much effortless for people.
