Waheedullah Ghazikhail, spokesperson to the Ministry of Commerce and a member of the investigation board, said that based on their research and investigation, there is no corruption in the Agency.
“Seven employees of the Agency had claimed that the Agency is corrupt. As a result, President Karzai assigned a board of investigator s to look into the case. The board has discovered no signs of administration or financial corruption.”
Senior members of the resignees had warned that neglect of this problem would cause serious damage to the department.
Roohullah Ahmadzai, one of the people in charge of investment promotion in the AISA office said that this move is a practical step towards eradicating corruption in the country.
He claimed he has sufficient evidence and witnesses in hand. He called on President Hamid Karzai in an interview to help deal with this issue.
“We demand the President to honestly review the capacity of the present manager of AISA and to assess how many of the goals and objectives that we laid out two months ago have been achieved. We hope that this issue will not be delayed, since we feel that [the manager] wants to destroy some certain documents in the office.”

- Sulaiman Akbari, Investment Support Deputy Director
- Mir Taufiq Ansari, Research and Policymaking Deputy Director
- Abdul Ghafar Rasin, Industries Advisor
The above has accused Wafiullah Eftikhar, Head of AISA, for misuse of the organization’s revenue and for employing his friends and members of his political party in key positions of the organization, something Mr. Eftikhar denies and calls baseless.
AISA works to help local and foreign investors by providing them assistance and information on Afghanistan’s investment opportunities. New companies have to seek AISA license in order to be able to establish their business.
