Ismail Khan said in a conference, “the construction of Kilagi Dam is one of the Ministry’s priorities and we are making efforts to complete the project as soon as possible.”
According to Minister Ismail Khan, with the establishment of the dam the problems of irrgiation in the province and access to drinking water will be solved.
The Ministry gave their promise to the local officials of the province that two dams with the finnacial assistance from Germany will be constructed in the province.
Governor of Baghlan Abdul Majid requested the Minister in the conference to undertake new projects including cleaning of water channels, supplying power to other areas of the provinces, and setting up a standard system for delivering electricity to homes.
The Minister will be traveling to Samangan, Mazar-e-Sharif, Faryab, Jawzjan, and Kunduz.
The purpose of his trips is to evaluate and monitor the quality of electrification projects, to visit northern dams and to review the activities of Da Breshna Sherkat in the Northern provinces.
Minister Mohammad Ismail Khan discussed the fundamental challenges facing the electricity supply in the districts of Baghlan with local authorities in the province.
Baghlan is one of the industrial provinces of Afghanistan where major industrial facilities like Ghori Cement factory, sugar and other manufacturing sectors are active.
