AISA Officials Resign over Corruption

Six high ranking officials at Afghanistan Investment Support Agency (AISA) resigned due to endemic corruption in the organization.

  • Rohullah Ahmadzai, Investment Promotion Director
  •   Baryalai Malyar, Industrial Parks Promotion Director
  •   Mohammad Omar Joya, Research and Policymaking Director
  •  Ghulam Rabbani Mansori, Licensing Director
  •   Sulaiman Akbari, Investment Support Deputy Director
  •  Mir Taufiq Ansari, Research and Policymaking Deputy Director
  •  Abdul Ghafar Rasin, Industries Advisor

The above reported the failure of the organization to increase investment due to massive corruption within the last two months at AISA.

Meanwhile, Head of AISA, Wafiullah Eftekhar, rejects these allegations and call them baseless.

AISA works to help local and foreign investors by providing them assistance and information on Afghanistan’s investment opportunities. New companies have to seek AISA license in order to be able to establish their business.
